Overview
4-Day Poon Hill Sunrise Trek: The Ultimate Annapurna Adventure
Experience the magic of the Himalayas with our 4-Day Poon Hill Trek, a perfect blend of natural grandeur and cultural immersion. This journey is designed for travelers seeking the most iconic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges without the commitment of a multi-week expedition. From the vibrant rhododendron forests to the world-famous sunrise at Poon Hill, every step reveals the soul of Nepal.
Day 1: Pokhara to Ulleri – Into the Heart of the Hills
Our adventure begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapool, the gateway to the Annapurna region. After a brief briefing, we start our trek toward the charming village of Ulleri. The trail winds through lush landscapes and traditional stone-paved steps.
Duration: 1.5-hour drive / 5-6 hours trekking.
Cultural Highlight: Overnight stay in a Magar village, known for its warm hospitality and unique traditions.
Day 2: Ulleri to Ghorepani – Through the Enchanted Forest
After a nutritious mountain breakfast, we ascend toward Ghorepani. This segment of the trek is famous for its “Enchanted Forest” feel, passing through dense rhododendron woods that burst into color during the spring.
Duration: 4-5 hours trekking.
Experience: Keep an eye out for local wildlife and enjoy a panoramic lunch at Nangethati before reaching the bustling village of Ghorepani.
Day 3: Poon Hill Sunrise & The Cultural Hub of Ghandruk
We start before dawn, hiking to the summit of Poon Hill (3,210m). Witnessing the first light hit the Annapurna Massif and Dhaulagiri is a spiritual experience. After descending for breakfast, we trek toward Ghandruk, passing through the serene ridges of Tadapani.
Duration: 7-8 hours (including sunrise hike).
Highlight: A sunset evening in Ghandruk, the largest Gurung village in the region, famous for its slate-roofed houses and cultural museum.
Day 4: Ghandruk to Pokhara – A Scenic Farewell
On our final day, we enjoy a traditional Gurung breakfast with views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) before descending to Nayapool. Our private vehicle will be waiting to transport you back to Pokhara, where you can relax by the lake and reflect on your Himalayan journey.
Duration: 3-4 hours trekking / 1.5-hour drive.
