“Watch, Listen & Read” Before You Go
Watch: Skyfall (2012) for the opening Bosphorus vibe, Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul (Documentary), or The Water Diviner.
Listen: Search for “Istanbul Chill & Bosphorus Nights” on Spotify. Look for tracks by Baba Zula or Mercan Dede to get into the Neo-Ottoman mood.
Read: “Istanbul: Memories and the City” by Orhan Pamuk. It’s the perfect companion to understand the “Hüzün” (melancholy) and beauty of the city you are about to sail through.
Editor’s Note
“While Istanbul has a thousand faces, the one it shows you from the middle of the Bosphorus at night is undoubtedly its most beautiful. Pro tip: Make sure your phone is fully charged before the belly dancing starts—you won’t want to miss a single beat!”
City Legends: The Legend of the Maiden’s Tower
As we sail past the Maiden’s Tower (Kız Kulesi), look closely. Legend says a Byzantine Emperor built this tower to protect his daughter from a prophecy that she would be killed by a snake on her 18th birthday. He kept her isolated in the waves, but on the fateful day, a snake hidden in a basket of exotic fruits reached the tower and fulfilled the prophecy. Today, it stands as a symbol of both tragic love and the city’s enduring mystery.
Book Your Seat Between Two Continents!
Don’t just visit Istanbul—experience its soul. Spaces on our deck fill up fast; reserve your table now for an evening that will linger in your memories long after you leave the pier.
