Itinerary

Day 1
Trabzon - Arrival Day

Welcome to Turkey Trabzon Airport. Meet with your tour guide and transfer to your hotel and check in. You will be given your room key and the rest of the day is yours to explore Trabzon.

Day 2
Trabzon City Tour

After breakfast, we depart for St. Sophia (Ayasofya), a 13th-century church, and study its extraordinary collection of Byzantine frescoes, depart for Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, Castle, and Ataturk’s Mansion (a picturesque hillside retreat), visit Ortahisar Mosque (a Comneni cathedral in the old town). Lunch at a seaside restaurant in Akcaabat for famous meatballs. Afternoon, we explore the cobbled stone streets of Trabzon. Drive to Boztepe; enjoy our tea from samovar with the panoramic view of the city. After the tour drop back at the hotel

Day 3
Sumela Monastery - Zigana - Karaca Cave - Erzurum Tour

After breakfast, we depart for Sumela Monastery, visit the 4th-century Sumela Monastery which clings to a sheer cliff face in a deep forest, relax beside a fast flowing stream at Altindere Valley National Park, lunch and keep on traveling along the Silk Road through the Zigana Mountains (Pontic Alps) that will take us to Karaca Cave, considered to be the most beautiful in Turkey for its colors and formations. Drive to Erzurum via Bayburt.

Day 4
Erzurum - Kars Tour

An early morning departure upon breakfast from Erzurum will take us on a beautiful drive to Kars passing on the way to Sarikamis, the coldest spot in Turkey. We will arrive in Kars and visit Ani at the Turkish-Armenian border. We will take a 45-minute drive to the medieval Armenian City of Ani which lies mostly in ruins. Impressive fortified walls still encircle the ruins of numerous churches, mosques, and caravansaries. Enjoy a walk around the ruins and see the beautiful view of the Armenian border imagining it as a city with one million people rivaling Bagdad in its time! This city has experienced the cultures of Urartians, Armenians, Georgians, Mongols, Russians, and finally the Turks

Day 5
Dogubeyazit (Mount Ararat)

This morning after breakfast, we will drive for 3 1/2 hours along the “Silk Road” to Dogubeyazit. At the Iranian border, we will see a site known as the Crater Hole. This is a beautiful, yet rugged area. We will have the opportunity to see Mount Ararat from all sides. It is believed by some to be the resting place of Noah’s Ark; but to date, no one has found anything that has been verified as the Ark – yet the search is still on. In the afternoon, we will stop and see the Ishak Pasa Palace. This complex is a combination of a mosque, a fortress, and a palace that originally had a room for every day of the year! Below, you can also see the remains of Eski Bayazit and Urartian City which flourished in 1000 BC.

Day 6
Dogubeyazit - Lake Van

After breakfast and after visiting the Iranian border, Murtis Tour will take you for a Van journey in the early morning, a drive of approximately three hours. This city has been established 13th century BC when the Hurrites arrived. Then the Hittites, Urartians, Persian, Armenians, Macedonians, Romans, and finally in the 11th century, the Turks came here. From here, we will visit the finest Armenian architectural wonder the Church of the Holy Cross on Akdamar Island. We’ll also visit the wonderful Kurdish castle of Hosap very close to the Iranian border as well as the Urartian citadel

Day 7
Van - Ahlat - Bitlis - Diyarbakir Tours

After visiting the Eerie 12th century Selcuk cemetery in Ahlat in the morning upon breakfast, we will head to Bitlis for lunch and a good walk around Bitlis otherwise known as Alexander’s town. It’s a unique medieval town!

Day 8

Today your tour is over. Please make your own arrangements for departure remembering that your hotel will need you to check out before midday. After checking out transferred to Diyarbakir Airport.t for our domestic flight to Istanbul and then back home.

Reservations and payments?

For Direct Customers
There are so many adventures waiting for you, by reservation, 50% of the total cost is due once the trip and cost have been approved by both parties. The full amount may also be paid at this time. The remaining balance is due upon arrival/check-in. This applies to any of the seasons and guarantees the trip.

For Travel Agencies
We require full payment of the tour at the time of reservation once the trip and cost have been approved by both Excursions Finder and the Travel Agency. This applies to any of the seasons and guarantees the blocking of the trip.

Cancellation Policy

The deadline for canceling a reservation is as follows:
If payment is made and the customer, due to outside circumstances, cannot make the trip, the reservation can be postponed, without penalty charges, and can be rescheduled at a later date. No changes can be made to the original reservation upon rescheduling.

Deadlines for cancellation with a refund: One (1) week prior to the date of your tour
Last Minute Cancelations
Full payments or deposits will not be reimbursed for last-minute cancellations by either direct customers or travel agencies.
No Show
In the event of a No-Show by either a Direct Customer or Travel Agency, no refund shall be given.
In case of fortuitous events or Acts of God, management will assess the situation and decide upon a course of action. If a reimbursement or discount is agreed upon, the amount will return within the time specified by management. The Direct Customer or Travel Agency is responsible for all/any bank charge that may apply to the transaction.

Methodes of Payment

Reservations will be guaranteed within the down payment for Direct Customers or full payment for Travel Agencies. We accept electronic money transfers, bank deposits, and all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club.

After verifying the information, our sales staff will book the reservation.
For reservations during High Season, fifteen (15) business days are required to allow for payment processing after the final quote is agreed upon.
For reservations during the Low Season, five (5) business days are required to allow for payment processing after the final quote is agreed upon.
All confirmed reservations with our office, for both Travel Agencies and Direct Customers, will be sent an e-mail containing the trip description, the total cost with the down payment reflected, and a copy of our company policy in regards to cancellation, no show, date changes, etc.

Refunds

The process for refunding a deposit is as follows:
In the event of a refund, the Direct Customer or Travel Agency is responsible for covering any bank charges. 10% of the total payment will be withheld to cover this cost.
The Customer or Travel Agency must submit a written request for a refund along with the reason(s) for the reservation cancellation. Please specify the account number to which the money shall be refunded and the name under which the reservation was made.
Please allow 5 to 8 business days to process the refund request.
If the cancellation of the reserve corresponds to an event, it will be done according to the specifications and conditions agreed by both parties in the contract.
